Autochromes taken by Margareta von Österreich-Toskana

The unique group of autochromes produced by Margareta von Österreich-Toskana (1881–1965) comprises more than 420 photographs dating between 1910 and 1914. She took pictures when traveling, and portrayed members of her family as well as relatives from the House of Habsburg-Lorraine. Among her preferred motifs are landscapes and flowers, and she also liked to photograph still lifes and dogs. Margareta von Österreich-Toskana made use of the early color photography process known as autochrome to capture phases, scenes, and impressions of her private life.
