Archaeological finds from the cemetery of Hallstatt
Objects from the Hallstatt cemetery have been part of the collection of the OÖ Landes-Kultur GmbH since it was founded in the 19th century. It is the finds from Isidor Engl's excavations that were brought to the museum in Linz. Hallstatt, the eponymous site of the Hallstatt culture, which shaped Central Europe between 750 and 450 BC, yielded graves richly furnished with bronze, iron and amber grave goods. These are still the subject of scientific research and interpretation today.

Postcards "Wiener Werkstätte"
Founded in 1903, the Wiener Werkstätte aimed to artistically permeate all areas of life. It soon included the production of postcards in its program, with numerous renowned artists contributing. Today, more than 400 Wiener Werkstätte postcards are in the Graphic Arts Collection of the Province of Upper Austria.

NEW to our collections
Among the vast collections in the Department of Graphic Art of the Province of Upper Austria in the OÖ Landes-Kultur GmbH, the historical Upper Austrian vedute are an essential part. The collection currently comprises over 5000 works on paper and is of particular importance in terms of art and cultural history. New to our collections is an album with watercolour paintings from the 1850s.

Michaela Moscouw
The Viennese artist Michaela Moscouw (*1961) has been incessantly searching for traces of her self for over three decades.
Uncompromisingly, excessively and memorably, she circles her themes of self-staging, self-understanding, self-exposure and also self-extinction. Until the early 1980s, she painted abstract works, all of which she destroyed and filmed. With this she changed the medium - since then she works with photographic means. It is "the aestheticized body experience" that the artist is concerned with.
